DENVER — For the first time, the Riverdale Ridge Ravens can call themselves champions.
The Ravens' girls basketball team dethroned defending champion Holy Family 50-43 in the Class 4A title game Saturday at the Denver Coliseum -- bringing home the school's first-ever team state championship in any girls sport.
Riverdale Ridge was powered by Brihanna Crittendon's game-high 22 points, plus another 11 from Brooklyn Charlo and 10 from Cimonie Martinez.
Holy Family's leading scorer was Gracie Ward with 11 points.
Riverdale Ridge went 25-3 overall this season, which entailed putting together a 15-game win streak in route to the championship. Holy Family also went 25-3 as runner-up.
