DENVER — Championship Saturday was a clean sweep for Valor Christian.
Shortly after the Eagles' girls basketball team won the 6A state title, the boys followed close behind by doing the same.
Valor Christian won 52-40 over ThunderRidge in the boys championship to complete the sweep. It is the second state title in program history for the boys, and first since 2017.
Cole Scherer powered Valor Christian with a game-high 28 points. ThunderRidge was led by a team-high 18 points from Charlie Spann and another 10 via CU Buffs commit Andrew Crawford.
Valor Christian went 26-2 overall this season, which included rattling off a 17-game win streak in route to the championship. ThundwerRidge finishes 22-6 overall as runner-up.
