Valor Christian captures 6A girls basketball championship

The Eagles cruised past Regis Jesuit 58-44 in the Class 6A state title game.

DENVER — Valor Christian is back on top once again.

The Eagles captured the Class 6A girls basketball state title by cruising past Regis Jesuit 58-44 in the championship game on Saturday at the Denver Coliseum. It is the fourth title in program history for Valor Christian, and first since 2021.

Quinn VanSickle led the Eagles with a team-high 22 points, while Camryn Gunter scored 13 and Peyton Jones contributed 10.

Regis Jesuit's Hana Belibi put up a game-high 26 points to lead the Raiders.

Valor Christian went 23-4 overall in route to the championship. Regis Jesuit finishes 20-8 as runner-up.
