LOVELAND, Colo. — The wait is over.
Limon has a boys basketball team to call state champions for the first time in 60 years after the Badgers defeated Sanford 54-27 in the Class 2A title game at Blue Arena on Saturday night.
It is the fifth championship in program history for Limon, its first since 1964. The Mustangs were aiming to win their ninth title in school history and first since 2016.
Limon went 22-5 overall this season, which included a five-game winning streak to close out with the championship title. Sanford also finishes 22-5 as runner-up./
