AURORA, Colo. — Two people were rushed to a hospital after a propane tank exploded Thursday morning.
The explosion occurred in the area of East 2nd Avenue and Dearborn Way just after 10 a.m., Aurora Fire Rescue said. That's just east of South Sable Boulevard and a few blocks south of East 6th Avenue.
According to the agency a portable propane tank that's used to cook food caught fire and injured two people. One person, a man, suffered life-threatening burns, while another person, a woman, suffered burns that were not considered life-threatening. Both were taken by ambulance to a burn center for treatment, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.
The agency described the incident as a "flash fire" and said it's been ruled an accident.
