Motorcyclist who posted YouTube video of speeding on I-25 is extradited to Colorado

Rendon Dietzmann, 32, has been extradited from Texas to Colorado after investigators issued a warrant for his arrest.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The man who uploaded video of himself exceeding 150 miles per hour on Interstate 25 has been extradited to Colorado, waiting for a court date on misdemeanor charges, including menacing and reckless endangerment.

9NEWS confirmed Rendon Dietzmann was placed in jail in Colorado Springs on Wednesday after authorities in Texas arrested him on a warrant issued by Colorado State Patrol. According to the El Paso County jail, Dietzmann posted bond early Thursday morning.

Dietzmann was arrested Feb. 7 in Texas, and jail records show he was released from Texas on Wednesday and placed in El Paso County’s detention center the same day.

Dietzmann, who garnered a large social media following on YouTube and other social media sites, attracted the attention of thousands of people, including police, when he uploaded video of himself darting between vehicles while heading north on Interstate 25 between Colorado Springs and Denver.

Video of his speedometer showed him speeding faster than 150 mph in a video that was titled “... From Colorado Springs to Denver in 20 Minutes.”

An affidavit obtained by 9NEWS shows that Colorado State Patrol investigators used convenience store security camera footage and cellphone tower data as evidence to identify Dietzmann.

In the days after his arrest warrant was issued, Dietzmann attempted to capitalize on his notoriety by selling T-shirts with the words “Colorado’s Most Wanted.”
