FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. — The Federal Heights Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened Saturday afternoon that left a woman dead.
At about 3:27 p.m., police dispatch received a call about a woman who had been stabbed outside the Tuscan Heights Apartments at 1700 West 85th Avenue. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 20-year-old woman. Emergency medical treatment was administered by EMS personnel when they arrived, according to police.
The woman was transported to North Suburban Hospital where she later died, police said. On Jan. 5, the Adams County Coroner's Office identified her as Sachely Diaz Ricardo.
Police have identified a male suspect who was known to the victim and are attempting to locate him.
Detectives with the Federal Heights Police Department, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Adams County Coroner's Office and the Adams County District Attorney's Office are investigating the stabbing.
