DENVER — A woman died in a crash early Sunday when a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 25 hit another vehicle stopped on the shoulder, according to the Denver Police Department.
The crash happened about 4 a.m. near the I-25 interchange with Interstate 225, near the Denver Tech Center, according to police.
One vehicle was disabled and stopped on the shoulder of the interstate when the other vehicle crashed into it, killing one of the occupants of the disabled vehicle.
The disabled vehicle had four occupants, including the woman who died, who was a passenger in the back seat. Police had previously reported that the deceased victim was a man.
The only person in the other vehicle was the driver, according to police. All five occupants involved in the crash were transported to hospitals.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to police.
Some lanes of I-25 were closed for the investigation into the crash.
