AURORA, Colo. — A wrong-way driver caused a crash that shut down southbound Interstate 225 from 6th Avenue to Iliff Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Aurora police said the southbound lanes have since reopened.
All I-225 exits experienced major delays for hours this afternoon, police said.
A spokesperson for Aurora police said the crash happened about 12:45 p.m., when a wrong-way driver going north in the southbound lanes hit another vehicle. Both of the drivers were injured.
