AURORA, Colo. — Winning championships has become the standard for the Lutheran High School softball team.
In their short existence as a program, the Lions have been to the state title game in each of their five seasons thus far, winning all but their debut in 2020 when they were runner up.
Ever since, Lutheran has brought home a trophy every season.
That continued Saturday afternoon at Aurora Sports Park when the Lions shut out Windsor 1-0 in the title game to hoist the championship banner once again.
Sophomore pitcher Annie Schroeder threw a complete-game shutout to lead the Lions.
"It's certainly not old for me yet, and I don't think it ever will," she said.
Lutheran went 27-1 overall in route to the title. Windsor finished 27-3 as runner-up.
