The Routt County Sheriff's Office (RCSO) said authorities were called to a home in the 21000 block of 4th Avenue Saturday morning to perform a welfare check.
When deputies arrived they found a man, James "Jake" Hill, 44, and two children dead. The children were ages 3 and 7. Their names were not immediately released.
The case is being investigated as a double murder-suicide, the sheriff's office said.
Anyone who may have information on the case is asked to call the Routt County Sheriff's Office.
