Police investigating deadly shooting Saturday morning

Police said one person was pronounced dead in the 2800 block of Moline Street.

DENVER — Denver Police were investigating a deadly shooting with one victim Saturday morning.

Police said the call came in at 8:01 a.m. for a shooting in the 2800 block of Moline Street. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Denver Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Jose Vasquez, 30.

Police said a traffic stop was conducted nearby at the intersection of 17th Street and Oakland Avenue, which is closed while investigators worked to determine whether that vehicle is involved.

Police were not able to share any additional details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting or suspect information.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
