1 dead in crash between semi-truck, motorcycle

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Commerce City Police is investigating a fatal crash between a motorcycle and a semi-truck Friday afternoon.

Police said the crash took place in the 9700 block of 96th Avenue, west of Highway 2. 96th Avenue was temporarily closed between Heinz Way and Dallas Street while officers investigated the crash, police said. 

A spokesperson for the department said the fatal crash happened at around 2 p.m. 

Police said the motorcyclist, a man, struck the semi-truck and died at the scene. 

No further information was shared about the victim.
