LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Lakewood Police said on Friday that a missing 12-year-old girl has been found safe.

Police had asked for the public's help on Wednesday in finding the girl who was last seen April 2. The girl's name and description have been removed from this story due to her age.

She was known to frequent the area of West Bates Avenue between South Decatur and South Bryant streets in Denver.

She had a long history of running away, police said. There were concerns due to her age and not having a cellphone with her.
