Arrest made after teen fatally shot while driving

Family members said Amia Radke's mother was a passenger in the car and was hurt when the vehicle crashed.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colorado — A juvenile has been arrested and is accused of fatally shooting a teenage girl while she was driving which caused her to crash the vehicle.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said Friday that a suspect had been arrested in the shooting and crash that happened in the 1900 block of Sherrelwood Circle on Jan. 28.

Family members identified the victim as 19-year-old Amia Radke. They said Radke was a block away from home and that her mother was in the passenger seat. Her mother was seriously hurt in the crash, according to family members.

“She was with my mom, and they had pulled up and seen someone in the middle of the road," Amia's sister Alicianna Garrison told 9NEWS earlier this week. "My mom noticed that the guy was raising his hand, and my mom just screamed at Amia and said 'go, go go!' and they shot, and they got her instantly.”
