AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police closed part of Interstate 70 while they dealt with a woman with a gun on Saturday.
The Aurora Police Department said that just after 3:15 p.m., officers responded to 911 calls about a woman holding a gun in the air while standing in the median of I-70 at Tower Road.
Responding officers saw the woman holding a gun and closed the interstate in both directions.
Just after 4 p.m., police tweeted that the woman had been safely placed into custody and that they would be reopening I-70 shortly.
Police originally stated that the person was a man, but later corrected that information. She was arrested for disorderly conduct. A spokesperson for the police department said officers were not aware of any shots being fired.
