WELD COUNTY, Colo. — The man arrested for the death of a Greeley musician and the death of a woman who the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said may have been a suspect in the first killing has been formally charged.
Frank Kevin Dean Eastman was charged with:
- Two counts first-degree murder
- Two counts tampering with a deceased human body
- Two counts tampering with physical evidence
- Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
Eastman was booked into the Weld County Jail Thursday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of tampering with a deceased human body, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. He had previously been held in neighboring Larimer County.
The 48-year-old was arrested earlier this week for his alleged role in the death of 53-year-old Stanley Scott Sessions.
Sessions, a well-known musician and member of the Denver band The Movers and Shakers, was found dead off a road in Poudre Canyon earlier this month.
Eastman was arrested for this homicide on Feb. 16, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. During an ensuing search of his property, investigators said they found the body of 48-year-old Heather Frank.
Frank had an active warrant for her arrest out of Larimer County for suspicion of first-degree murder, the release says, and she was under investigation for Sessions’ slaying at the time of her death.
As a result of the new charges against Eastman, the Larimer County court case against him will be moved to Weld County, according to release.
Investigators have not said how Eastman knew Frank, or what motivated Sessions’ murder.
Sessions was remembered by bandmates as an accomplished trumpet player.
"He's not just a horn player that we called in for gigs," bandmate Kyle Borthick told the Coloradoan on Wednesday. "He was a big part of our show and he's going to be hard to replace. He was a really unique character, a very upbeat, positive guy."
