WELD COUNTY, Colo. — The Weld County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) on Tuesday said the victim of a suspicious death discovered over the weekend in an area west of Kersey is connected to the homicide investigation of Greeley musician, but they aren't sure how.
On Sunday, WCSO assisted the Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) with a search warrant at a house located in the 26700 block of Weld County Road 45, just off U.S. 34 between Greeley and Kersey.
Larimer County detectives were searching the home following up on a lead in their homicide investigation of 53-year-old Greeley resident and local musician Stanley Scott Sessions.
During the search of the home, deputies from both counties found the body of a deceased woman who police have identified as Heather Franks, 48, of Greeley.
The cause and manner of the woman's death are not being released at this time due to ongoing investigations by both county sheriff's offices. Authorities say there is no threat to public safety.
On Sunday, LCSO arrested Kevin Dean Eastman, 48, of Greeley in connection with the homicide of Sessions. He was booked into the Larimer County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body, both felonies.
Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to call the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015 or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
