SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — Interested in some June skiing in Colorado?

Arapahoe Basin has you covered.

Although it won’t make it into August as it did in 1995, the Summit County ski area is open this weekend and again Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 7-9, with a chance to go one weekend beyond that, if conditions allow, ski area spokesperson Shayna Silverman said Tuesday.

Monday, May 27, was the final day of skiing at Mary Jane at Winter Park, leaving Arapahoe Basin as the only ski area in Colorado still operating this season.

Arapahoe Basin is located on the west side of Loveland Pass, along U.S. Highway 6, 11 miles east of Dillon.

Two chairlifts providing access to most of the front side of the mountain remain open, Silverman said. The Black Mountain Express Lift takes riders from the resort’s base area at 10,520 feet above sea level to mid-mountain, where they can then access the Lenawee Express Lift to the top of the resort at 13,050 feet. Mid-mountain snow depth Friday was 49 inches, the resort reported, and daytime high temperatures for the weekend were forecast to be in the low 50s.
