DENVER — The Colorado Avalanche take a three-game winning streak into Friday's game against the Washington Capitals.

On Wednesday, Colorado defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 thanks to Mikko Rantanen's 9th career hat trick.
Colorado has found some momentum as of late, going 6-4 in their last 10 games. The Avalanche are currently in 4th place in the Central Division with 18 points. The division lead is held by the Winnipeg Jets.
Washington is currently in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division with 22 points. The Capitals have gone 3-2-1 in the month of November.

Artturi Lehkonen has recorded six points in his last five games. Lehkonen returned to the Colorado bench for the first time this season on Nov. 5 against Seattle where he had a two point night getting a goal and an assist.
Valeri Nichushkin is expected to make his return to the Colorado bench for the first time this season.
Nichushkin was suspended during the second round of the 2024 playoffs and entered stage 3 of the NHL's player assistance program for a situation off the ice.
Alexander Ovechkin is currently chasing Wayne Gretzky's all-time goal record. Ovechkin is leading the Capitals with 10 goals this season.
Gretzky's career goal record is 894. Ovechkin will enter Friday's contest with 863 career goals.
Lars Eller was acquired by the Capitals from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. He has 4 goals and 3 assists in 17 games this season.
Eller played seven seasons with the Capitals between 2016-2023. Eller helped the Capitals win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2018.
