DENVER — Colorado sports fans have reason to celebrate as the Nuggets and Avalanche are back on local TV.
Under the new deal, 20 Nuggets and 20 Avalanche games during the 2024-25 season will be broadcast on 9NEWS’ sister station KTVD Ch. 20. Several games will also simulcast on 9NEWS.
People living in the Denver metro and surrounding areas of Colorado can watch the Nuggets and Avalanche games on KTVD for free over the air with a digital antenna.
“The Avs and Nuggets are world-class organizations, with world-class fans,” said Mark Cornetta, 9NEWS President and General Manager. “They deserve a chance to watch them on TV, especially with their recent success. We’re excited to be working with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment to make this happen.”
Under the deal, all 40 Nuggets and Avalanche games will be available on KTVD. Ten of the games, still to be determined, will also be simulcast on 9NEWS.
“As we embark on the 25th season of Ball Arena and not only celebrate the past but look toward the future, it is fitting that we introduce the next evolution of our Altitude Sports network that includes Altitude+ and games on 9NEWS and My20,” said Josh Kroenke, KSE Vice Chairman. “Thanks to this innovative model, our fans can be with us every step this season in our quest to bring both the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy and the Stanley Cup back to Denver.”
The free slate of games available on 9NEWS and KTVD will continue through April when the Nuggets and Avalanche will be ready to begin postseason runs.
