HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo — The defending champs are heading back to defend their crown.
No. 2-seed Valor Christian has advanced to the Class 5A hockey state title game for the fifth straight year after defeating No. 3 Cherry Creek 4-1 in the Frozen Four on Saturday night at South Suburban Sports Complex.
The Eagles will look to go back-to-back in search of their fourth state title in program history. They will clash with No. 1 Regis Jesuit on Tuesday night at DU's Magness Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Cherry Creek's season ends with a 12-5-4 overall record.
