GREELEY, Colo. — The 'dogs are going back to the 'ship.
The University Bulldogs' baseball team has advanced to the Class 3A baseball state championship for the third consecutive year after defeating Resurrection Christian, 9-4, on Friday at Butch Butler Field.
University got a complete-game performance from senior pitcher Connor Weber on the mound.
"It's pretty fun. I love playing for the state title," Weber said. "Three years now. Let's go get one."
The Bulldogs have finished as state runner-up in back-to-back seasons, losing to rival Eaton both times. They will get the Reds, who are undefeated and looking for their fourth championship in a row, on Saturday.
