DENVER — This live blog will track the latest results and updates in Colorado and the 2024 U.S. presidential race.

Wednesday:

3:38 a.m. update: AP projects Donald Trump will defeat Vice President Kamala Harris

Former President Donald Trump will serve a second term in the White House after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. The Associated Press projected a win for Trump at 3:38 a.m. MT Wednesday morning.

Tuesday:

9:24 p.m. update: AP projects Lauren Boebert has won in House District 4

A few minutes after U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert declared victory in Congressional District 4, the Associated Press projected that she had won the race over Democratic challenger Trisha Calvarese. As of this update, Boebert has 52.86% of the vote, compared with 43.25% for Calvarese.

9:12 p.m. update: Lauren Boebert declares victory in House District 4

Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert said on Tuesday night that her Democratic challenger, Trisha Calvarese, had called her to concede the race in Congressional District 4.

Boebert faced Calvarese in the general election to determine who will fill former Congressman Ken Buck's seat. The Associated Press has not yet projected a victor in this race.

8:53 p.m. update: Amendment J passes

Amendment J, a ballot measure to remove a ban on a same-sex marriage from the state constitution, has passed. The vote as of this update is 63.65% voting yes and 36.35% voting no.

Also passing: Proposition 128 to modify parole eligibility.

8:50 p.m. update: Brittany Pettersen projected to win in House District 7

U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D) will keep her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Associated Press projects. Pettersen, who represents District 7, has as of this update 57.39% of the vote, compared with 39.69% for GOP challenger Sergei Matveyuk.

Also, three more Amendments have passed:

  • Amendment G to expand the property tax exemption for veterans with a disability.
  • Amendment H to establish an independent judicial discipline adjudicative board.
  • Amendment I to create an exemption for the right to bail for first-degree murder suspects.

8:31 p.m. update: Amendment 79 passes

Amendment 79, a ballot measure about making abortion a constitutional right in Colorado and using public funds for abortion services, has passed, according to the Associated Press. The vote as of this update is 60.91% voting yes and 39.09% voting no.

Also passing: Proposition JJ, which will allow the state to retain tax revenue from the tax on sports betting proceeds to fund water conservation and protection projects.

8:12 p.m. update: Kamala Harris projected to win in Colorado

Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris is projected to win Colorado's electoral votes in the presidential race. As of this update, Harris has 55.95% of the vote, compared with 41.94% for Republican former President Donald Trump.

7:55 p.m. update: Joe Neguse projected to keep his seat in House District 2

Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse is the projected winner in House District 2. Early returns show he has 69.7% of the vote, compared with 28.4% for Republican challenger Marshall Dawson.

Other House districts are much closer races in early returns. In District 3, about 3,000 votes separate Republican Jeff Hurd and Democrat Adam Frisch. In District 4, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert leads Democrat Trisha Calvarese by about 30,000 votes. In District 8, only about 5,000 votes separate Rep. Yadira Caraveo and GOP challenger Gabe Evans.

7:44 p.m. update: Jason Crow projected to win in House District 6

U.S. Rep. Jason Crow, a Democrat, will keep his House seat from District 6, the Associated Press projects. Early returns show Crow with 61% of the vote over 37.3% for Republican challenger John Fabbricatore.

7:15 p.m. update: Associated Press calls House District 1 race for Diana DeGette

The longtime Democratic representative for District 1 will return to the U.S. House of Representatives for another term, the Associated Press projects. Early results showed Rep. Diana DeGette had 77.87% of the vote, compared with 20.67% for Republican challenger Valdamar Archuleta.

7 p.m. update: Polls are closed in Colorado

The polls have closed in Colorado, and early results from counties will start to come in soon. Polls also closed at 7 p.m. in 14 other states.

The Denver Elections website still shows long lines to vote in-person at several polling locations, including more than an hour at the Green Valley Ranch Recreation Center. Voters who are in line at their polling location by 7 p.m. are allowed to vote.

When do election results start coming in?

The first batch of Colorado results was released shortly after polls closed at 7 p.m. on election night. Counties released updated results throughout the evening. 9NEWS provides election results from the Associated Press.
