LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — An evacuation order has been lifted after a small wildfire burning north of Wellington in northern Colorado Wednesday afternoon.
Poudre Fire said they, along with Wellington Fire, were responding to a wildfire about eight miles north of Wellington.
Larimer County emergency officials said evacuations were ordered for North County Road 7 east to Interstate 25 from mile marker 281- 288, and East County Road 82 (Buckeye) south to East County Road 70 (Owl Canyon).
People in that area were asked to evacuate by heading south on County Road 7.
At 4:23 p.m., the Larimer County Sheriff's Office posted on social media that the 5-acre fire was 90% contained and that crews were mopping up.
About 10 minutes later, the evacuation order was lifted.
At 5:12 p.m., the sheriff's office said the Buckeye Fire was fully contained.
