ARVADA, Colo. — Local Indian restaurant Spice Room is taking its cuisine out West.
The restaurant plans to open its third restaurant on April 26 at 7355 Ralston Rd., located at the intersection of the Wadsworth Bypass and Ralston Road, just steps away from Olde Town Arvada.
Spice Room purchased the stand-alone building that was formerly home to Steuben’s at 7355 Ralston Rd. for $2.09 million on Feb. 22, according to property records. The seller was an LLC associated with Steuben’s owner Joshua Wolkon.
Steuben’s originally opened its Arvada restaurant there in 2016 in the former Gunther Toody’s diner, but closed the location in 2021 because of pandemic-related difficulties.
Kal Pant, operator at Spice Room, said he’d been eyeing the Arvada spot since 2021, but was not able to work out a deal to rent or buy it back then. His real estate agent approached him about six months ago, saying that Wolkon was ready to sell, and Pant said the location made sense for Spice Room.
