COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — East 56th Avenue between Vasquez Boulevard and Brighton Boulevard reopened in Commerce City after police closed the road Monday morning for an investigation.
Westminster Police shared that they located a car suspected to be involved in a 2 a.m. shooting that occurred in their jurisdiction in the 6800-block of Lowell Boulevard.
Police said investigators are still trying to track down witnesses to the shooting and a car that matched the description of a car involved in the shooting was found in Commerce City. The car was taken by Westminster police and said they will investigate further if the car is related to the shooting.
The Commerce City Police Department reported the road reopened around 11 a.m.
Commerce City police tweeted at 9:24 a.m., that officers were investigating the incident and asked the public to avoid the area.
