Body recovered from Arkansas River after search for missing 19-year-old

The body was recovered Tuesday night near La Junta, according to the Otero County Sheriff's Office.

OTERO COUNTY, Colo. — The Otero County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday that authorities recovered a body from the Arkansas River.

According to a post on Facebook, the body was located north of the BNSF rail yard near La Junta. Otero County Sheriff's Office deputies, the La Junta Fire Department, the Otero County coroner, the Otero emergency manager and members of the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office responded to assist in the recovery.

The body will be transported to the El Paso County Coroner's Office for an autopsy and identification, the sheriff's office said.

The Otero County Sheriff's Office started a search for Devlin Cambeul, 19, who went missing in the river last Wednesday, according to Otero County Sheriff Shawn Mobley.
