AURORA, Colo. — A shelter-in-place order has been lifted for a neighborhood in southeast Aurora on Monday morning.
At about 6:20 a.m., the Aurora Police Department responded to a report of a man carrying a suspicious device in the 6600 block of South Catawba Way. At 7 a.m., a shelter-in-place order was issued for the immediate area, police said in a tweet.
Police closed East Euclid Avenue between South Catawba Circle and South Calhoun Place.
Officers negotiated with the man and safely took him into custody, police said in an update.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called to the scene to examine the suspicious device, police said. After examining the device, officers determined it posed no threat to the public.
At about 8:35 a.m., police tweeted that the scene was clear and the shelter-in-place order was lifted.
