LARKSPUR, Colo. — A shelter-in-place order ended after deputies and a citizen found a suspect who escaped from Weld County custody, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Saturday via X, formerly known as Twitter.
Luis Fernando Cerda-Regaldo, 27, was found hiding in a barn on private property in the Larkspur area and was taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.
A shelter-in-place order was issued Friday for the Larkspur area of Fox Farm and Spruce Mountain while deputies searched for Cerda-Regaldo, who they said was potentially armed and dangerous.
Cerda-Regaldo was initially arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction and attempting to influence law enforcement, according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office
No further information was shared due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
