AURORA, Colo. — A family is pushing police for answers after someone shot and killed a man in his car on Jan. 24, in a neighborhood near Buckley Space Force Base.
Police haven't arrested anyone yet but said they do have a few leads they’re looking into. The victim’s sister, Sabrina Manazaners, is hoping someone with information will come forward.
"I don't get it,” said Manazaners. “Like I really don't get it. How can you just shoot somebody and walk away and be okay with it?"
Detectives with Aurora Police are working to figure out what led up to the shooting. Police said Tony Nieto was picking up a friend and as the two were driving away, someone fired one shot at them. Police said the bullet went through the car’s taillight, entered the vehicle, and struck Nieto in the neck. Police said he then tried to drive himself to the hospital.

“Breaks my heart because he was all alone,” said Manazaners. “He was probably so scared. Like he didn't know what to do. He was probably thinking of his kids."
Nieto was a husband and a father. His youngest was born prematurely just a few months ago.
"She'll be his last,” cried Manazaners. “He's never going to have babies again. He's not going to be able to be a grandpa. He's not going to be able to walk her down the aisle."
Manazaners said their family was supposed to be planning a baptism. Now they're planning a funeral to gather, mourn, and remember her younger brother.
"Whoever did this they get to go home every day and they get to see their family and live their life,” said Manazaners. “I am not ever going to stop until I get justice for my brother."
Aurora Police said they found a few cameras in the neighborhood where the shooting happened. They're hoping those videos will help paint a better picture of what happened.
A spokesperson for the police department said they're still looking into the circumstances of the shooting and working to identify a potential suspect or suspects.
