COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A suspect faces numerous charges, including attempted murder and motor vehicle theft, after a man who tracked down his stolen vehicle was shot earlier this week in Commerce City.
Commerce City Police said the shooting happened on Jan. 10 in the area of 53rd and Krameria. According to the police department, the victim and several others had located their own stolen truck in that area. A second vehicle, a stolen black truck, was also in the area, according to police.
The drivers of both of the stolen trucks stopped near there and that's when the victim approached them. A person in the black truck shot the victim and then jumped into the other stolen truck, which fled the area.
With help from the Aurora Police Department and the Denver Police Department, that truck was located in the 9700 block of 35th Avenue in Denver. A foot chase led to the apprehension of the shooting suspect, according to Commerce City Police.
The suspect has been identified as Enrique Fabin Maciel.
