WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A male victim is dead and another person was taken into custody after a homicide Friday night in Wheat Ridge, according to police.
The homicide is not related to the slaying of Wheat Ridge shop owner Peter Arguello, police said.
The Wheat Ridge Police Department said their officers responded around 8 p.m. Friday to a residence near West 38th Avenue and Independence Court after a 911 caller reported a person had been shot. Officers arrived and found the victim dead.
Officers contacted another person inside the home and determined that they were a suspect. That person was taken into custody, police said.
The only information police have released about the suspect is that they are an adult. Police also have not released information on the circumstances of the homicide.
The Jefferson County coroner will release the victim's name and cause of death after their family is notified.
