DENVER — Denver police have arrested a suspect in a deadly shooting late last month near Cheesman Park.
The Denver Police Department said Michael Milligan, 27, was shot and killed on the evening of Nov. 30 in the 800 block of North Gaylord Street.
According to the arrest affidavit, Milligan and a friend were trying to escape from a drug deal when it appeared that the buyer was going to rob them. Milligan was shot as he was driving away and ended up crashing about half a block away. He later died at the hospital.
The affidavit says Milligan was trying to sell four pounds of marijuana that he had obtained with a medical marijuana card.
Police later identified the suspect as Travis Jamahl Jackson, 38, and arrested him Thursday afternoon. He is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
