Man found shot to death in Loveland, 20-year-old in custody

Estevan Vasquez was taken into custody after police were called to a shooting at an apartment in the 3800 block of East 15th Street on Monday.

LOVELAND, Colo. — A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Loveland, police said Tuesday.

Loveland Police officers were called to a reported shooting at an apartment in the 3800 block of East 15th Street just before 1 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, they found a 49-year-old man dead from a gunshot wound to his head.

Also at the apartment were two men and a juvenile female. The three were taken to police headquarters to be interviewed, police said.

After interviews were completed, 20-year-old Estevan Terry Vasquez was arrested, police said. He's being held on suspicion of first-degree murder - extreme indifference.

Police said Vasquez and the others who were at the apartment all knew one another. The shooting happened after verbal and physical disturbances occurred between the apartment's occupants, Loveland police said.

The victim's name will be released at a later time by the Larimer County Coroner's Office.

Vasquez is being held in the Larimer County jail without bond. He's next due in court on Jan. 16.
