DENVER — A man who was arrested in Wyoming on suspicion of a fatal shooting in Lone Tree led law enforcement officers on a chase before he was taken into custody last week, according to court documents.
James Neal, 23, was wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection to the death of Michael Lohmeier, 73, of Centennial, who was found dead in his SUV on South Yosemite Street near the Park Meadows Mall on Nov. 4. Police said it appeared that Lohmeier had died of a gunshot wound.
A spokesperson for the City of Lone Tree said on Monday that Neal had been arrested in Wyoming.

According to a probable cause affidavit from Wyoming's 8th Judicial District, Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers responded on Nov. 22 to a GPS ping from a stolen iPad that was related to a series of vehicle thefts in Wheatland.
One trooper initiated a traffic stop of a white Ford Focus driven by Neal, but Neal didn't stop. A second trooper joined the pursuit, along with officers from surrounding agencies, the affidavit says,.
After multiple attempts to stop the car, a TVI (tactical vehicle intervention) maneuver by a Platte County Sheriff's deputy stopped Neal's car, and another trooper pinned it from the front, the affidavit says.
They learned that Neal had an active warrant out of Colorado for homicide and found suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in the car, along with seven firearms that had been reported stolen that morning, according to the affidavit.
They also found other stolen property in the car, which matched property taken from vehicles in Wheatland, the affidavit says.
Neal was taken into custody. In addition to the homicide warrant, he was arrested on drug charges as well as attempting to elude police, reckless driving and possession of stolen property. He is jailed in Goshen County. It's not clear when he will be returned to Colorado.
