Fort Collins man accused of assaulting delivery driver

The incident happened in the 2600 block of Raintree Drive -- near the intersection of West Drake Road and South Shields Street.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A 55-year-old man who works as a delivery driver for an on-demand shopping service sustained minor injuries after Fort Collins Police said he was assaulted by a client.

Eissa Alameri, 23, was taken in custody Monday morning. According to a news release from Fort Collins Police Services, Alameri attacked the victim with a knife when he arrived outside of his apartment in the 2600 block of Raintree Drive.

The victim disarmed Alameri, the release says, and was able to retreat to a safe place until police arrived.

Alameri is then accused of threatening officers with a knife, running away and barricading himself in a nearby stairwell until police could take him into custody.

He now faces charges for:

- Attempted second-degree murder

- Second-degree assault

- Menacing

Police did not say which service the victim worked for. He was treated for his injuries on the scene.
