CAÑON CITY, Colo — A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the deadly shooting of a man in Cañon City on Saturday, the Fremont County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) announced.
FCSO said they found victim Coty Bass, 33, with a gunshot wound after responding to the 2100 block of Washington Street to investigate a reported shooting.
The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to FCSO.
Shera Marie Carter, 31, was arrested around 6 p.m. on Saturday and is being charged with first-degree homicide, FCSO said.
The suspect is being held without bond pending arraignment on Monday, according to FCSO.
