EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado State Patrol (CSP) was notified Tuesday by Eagle County deputies of a body found down an embankment off Highway 6 near Edwards.
Troopers responded and found this to be a result of a fatal hit-and-run crash, according to CSP. During the investigation, troopers determined that two days earlier, a cyclist was traveling on Highway 6 when they were struck by a vehicle. The vehicle left the scene. The bicycle was not found at the scene, and troopers believe that it may have been taken.
The driver of the vehicle has not been identified, according to CSP.
Investigators asked for the public's help to find the suspect vehicle and driver. CSP said the suspect vehicle is a 2010-2012 white Subaru Legacy or Outback, possibly with front end damage on the passenger side.
Anyone with information about the crash, who has not already spoken to investigators, please contact CSP dispatch at 970-945-6198. Callers can reference case number 4C240104.
