Man dead after shooting in Denver

A man was shot and killed near North Broadway and Park Avenue West, according to police.

DENVER — The Denver Police Department (DPD) said Wednesday that it's investigating a fatal shooting that happened in downtown Denver.

DPD first got the report of a shooting at about 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, a man was shot and killed in the 2300 block of North Broadway. That's near the intersection with Park Avenue West.

The victim's identity will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after notification of next of kin.

Police did not release any suspect description in this case.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
