DENVER — The fugitive recovery unit for the Denver Police Department so far hasn’t been able to track down a teenage girl who is suspected in a shooting that injured five people outside a bar one month ago.
The shooting occurred Sept. 16 in Lower Downtown, right in front of Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on Market Street. Police said Keanna Rosenburgh became upset after the ID she was using wasn’t good enough to allow her entry into the bar. Video stills provided by Denver Police show a woman identified as Rosenburgh pointing a gun on the street where five people were hit with bullets.
Rosenburgh is expected to face multiple counts of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder.
“She has to have someone helping her out,” said Dave Gambale, a fugitive recovery expert out of Virginia who has 25 years of experience.
“If they find someone that doesn't like her, who knows where she's at, there's always someone that will give you up,” Gambale said.
Doug Schepman, a spokesperson for Denver Police, said the agency’s fugitive team has made “extensive efforts” in and out of state to try to find Rosenburgh.
“I know that’s been frustrating for the investigators who are attempting to locate her, but you know they are continuing with that effort,” Schepman said.
He wouldn’t go into detail on any leads the agency has investigated because of the active case.
As of this publication, there is a $2,000 Metro Denver Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to the arrest of Rosenburgh.
Gambale said he believes the amount should be increased.
“You put a big chunk of change out there, people are gonna start singing,” he said.
Lissa Druss, a spokeswoman for Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, sent 9NEWS a statement about the case over email.
“We are confident that authorities will capture the suspect, and we have requested that the district attorney prosecute to the fullest extent of the law,” Druss wrote.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
