1 person shot, injured in southeast Denver

The shooting happened Thursday morning at ​​South Oneida Street and Leetsdale Drive, the same area where another shooting occurred this week.

DENVER — Denver Police said they are investigating a shooting that left one person injured Thursday morning in southeast Denver.

DPD said a call about a shooting in the area of South Oneida Street and Leetsdale Drive came in shortly after 8:40 a.m. Thursday. 
Police said one victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

DPD said the circumstances of the shooting are under investigation and no arrests have been made.

On Thursday morning, investigators had up crime scene tape in a shopping area parking lot on the south side of Leetsdale Drive. The investigation appeared to be focused on a recreational vehicle parked in the lot.

The incident occurred across the street from where Denver Police officers shot and injured an armed man in the parking lot of an apartment complex Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. 

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000. 

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
