1 killed in shooting involving Broomfield Police officer

The shooting happened around 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, in the 700 block of Burbank Street, according to police.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — The Broomfield Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting involving an officer that happened Wednesday night.

At about 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, officers arrived to the Village Square Apartments located in the 700 block of Burbank Street for a report of a domestic related incident, Broomfield Police posted on the social platform X.

The officer involved in the shooting was not injured and one person was transported to a local hospital and later died, according to police.

The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) is investigating the shooting. The officer who was involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, according to police.
