Here's when outdoor pools open in the Denver area

Denver said that due to construction and maintenance needs, Swansea and Mestizo-Curtis pools will not open for the 2024 season.

DENVER — Summer pool season has arrived.

Memorial Day weekend traditionally marks the start of the outdoor pool season, continuing through Labor Day weekend.

Water World and Elitch Gardens' water park opened for the summer season on Saturday.

Denver

The City of Denver will open its outdoor pools on June 14. The 2024 pool season will continue through Aug. 11.

Denver city pools will close on June 19 and July 4 in observance of city holidays.

Due to construction and maintenance needs, Swansea and Mestizo-Curtis pools will not open this summer. With Phase 3 of Ruby Hill Park renovation, the pool will permanently close, the City of Denver said.

Arvada

Apex Park and Recreation District has opened the outdoor swimming pools at the Fitzmorris Recreation Center, Secrest Outdoor Pool, and Lake Arbor Center.

The George J. Meyers Swimming Center closed May 9 and a new facility will open in the fall.

Aurora

The City of Aurora opened its outdoor pools on Saturday for Memorial Day weekend. The pools will remain open until Sept. 2.

Weekend-only operations begin Saturday, Aug. 3. Del Mar and Meadow Hills pools will be open on Saturdays and Sundays, all other outdoor pools will close for the season.

Free Fridays return to Del Mar, Parklane and Pheasant Run outdoor pools. Free Thursdays will be offered at Aqua Vista and Village Green outdoor pools. Due to parking limitations, free admissions days will not be observed at Meadow Hills.

Boulder

Scott Carpenter Pool in Boulder opened Saturday. 

The leisure pool includes water play areas, lazy river, deep water and slides.

The city has coordinated with CU Boulder for the use of the University's lot 560, across the street from the pool.

Centennial

South Suburban Parks and Recreation opened its four outdoor swimming pools on Saturday.

Daily hours at Harlow, Holly, Ben Franklin and Cook Creek pools continue through Aug. 4 and weekend hours through Sept. 2.

Englewood

The City of Englewood opened the Pirates Cove water park on Saturday.

Highlands Ranch

Highlands Ranch Community Association opened its four outdoor swimming pools on Friday. 

Regular summer hours begin Tuesday. 

Lakewood

The City of Lakewood opened its five outdoor pools and splash pads on Memorial Day weekend. 

The indoor Charles Whitlock Pool is closed until further notice.

Loveland

The City of Loveland's Parks & Recreation Department opened Winona Outdoor Pool on Memorial Day Monday. 

The Swim Beach at Lake Loveland will open in June.

Thornton

The City of Thornton will open Park Village Pool and City Pool on Saturday, June 1.

Westminster

The City of Westminster has opened its Countryside Outdoor Pool. The pool will remain open until Aug. 11.

A doggie dive-in event will be held Saturday, Aug. 17.
