DENVER — The water park at Denver's Elitch Gardens is ready for the summer season.
Elitch Gardens said its Island Kingdom Water Park opens Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The water park features thrill, speed and raft rides, a lazy river and splash bay. Cabanas and tubes are available for rent.
The downtown Denver park will host a fireworks show on Sunday at park closing time. Firework shows are also planned for July 5 and Sept. 1.
"This season is brimming with excitement for all ages," said David Dorman, Elitch Gardens General Manager. "From character meet and greets to family-friendly movies in the wave pool to a jam-packed summer concert series, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Where else can you get a variety of free entertainment plus unlimited theme and water park visits for one low price?"
The water park is free with theme park admission and will be open through Labor Day weekend. Single-day and season passes are available at ElitchGardens.com.
