Space Command opens in Colorado days after Peterson AFB funds were diverted to border wall
U.S. Space Command has come to Colorado Springs, at Peterson Air Force Base. Peterson recently learned that $8 million of its funding, which was going toward a space control facility, is now set to pay for President Trump's border wall. Sen. Cory Gardner previously claimed credit for protecting Colorado's military bases from cuts in order to fund the wall - a promise he kept, based on the fine print.
