Man sought after Denver bank robbery

DENVER — The FBI is asking for help identifying the man suspected of robbing a bank in Denver Monday evening.

The suspect is described as a white man between 40 and 45 years old with a short beard and acne marks on his face, the FBI said. He was wearing a black and white hat, button-up style shirt, dark pants and dark shoes. He was also carrying a black bag, police said.

He's suspected of robbing the First Bank at 275 S. Federal Blvd. in Denver just before 6 p.m. on Monday by presenting note demanding money to the teller.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery or another incident can contact the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171. They can also remain anonymous and earn up to $2,000 by calling Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
