Strong winds through Friday for much of Eastern Colorado

A High Wind Warning will continue for much of the eastern plains until 5 p.m. Friday. Northwesterly winds are expected to be around 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph.

The Denver metro area will still see wind gusts up to 20 mph Friday afternoon.

Those strong winds will combine with extremely low humidity values, prompting a Red Flag Warning for many counties in Eastern Colorado. It goes into effect at 10 am and continues until 5 pm Friday for high fire danger.

Daytime highs will be seasonal in the mid 40s Friday afternoon along the I-25 corridor.

Another storm will move into the state early Saturday morning. It won't bring much accumulating snow with it. Look for a couple of inches in the northern and central mountains with flurries in Metro Denver Saturday afternoon.
