The major blizzard that pummeled Colorado on Wednesday will result in another snow day for some of the state's largest school districts.
The "bomb cyclone" brought hurricane-force winds to Colorado, and led to power outages, closed highways and toppled trees along the Front Range and Eastern Plains.
Some of the school closures Thursday are the result of ongoing power outage issues. More than 191,000 Xcel Energy customers have been without power in the Denver region, and crews have described the outage as a "multi-day recovery" effort.
The winter storm is expected to start moving out of the state late Wednesday night, with blizzard warnings for the Interstate 25 corridor set to expire at midnight.
