Soak in the sunshine: Final 6 p.m. sunset in Denver until next year

The sunset is coming earlier and earlier in the day until the winter solstice in late December. Denver's sunset drops into the 4 p.m. hour on Sunday.

DENVER — Now that the Summer Solstice has passed, the Centennial State will continue to lose precious minutes of sunlight each day until the Winter Solstice in December.

The 6:00 p.m. sunset on Tuesday, Oct. 29, will be the last 6 p.m.-or-later sunset in Denver until Sunday, March 9, 2025.

This year, Denver sunsets will remain in the 5 p.m. hour until Sunday, Nov. 3, when the sunset drops to 4:54 p.m. after the clocks shift backward one hour.

In December, sunset times in Denver range between 4:35 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

The Winter Solstice occurs Saturday, Dec. 21, at 2:19 a.m. MT.
